The Company:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established UK manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and continuous improvement. The company designs and manufactures technically advanced products used across a range of commercial and industrial environments. With ongoing investment in people, processes, and technology, the business offers a stable yet progressive environment where engineers are encouraged to make a real impact. If you are looking to develop your career as a Production Engineer within a collaborative and forward-thinking organisation, this role offers long-term progression and hands-on involvement in modern manufacturing operations.

Job Description:
As a Production Engineer, you will work as part of a cross-functional engineering and manufacturing team, taking responsibility for the selection, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of assembly and production processes. These processes include CNC routing, sheet metal punching and bending, welding, powder coating and paint curing ovens, as well as electrical assembly and testing.

The Production Engineer will own and improve existing machinery and processes while supporting the introduction of new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing techniques. You will define and document production procedures, drive efficiency improvements, reduce costs, and ensure product quality is maintained at all times.

Key responsibilities include supporting new product introductions through jig and fixture design, supplier selection, PFMEA, ergonomics, factory layout, and cycle time optimisation. You will also provide technical support to production and maintenance teams, generate SOPs and installation documentation (ideally using 3D CAD models), and assist with resolving quality issues in collaboration with purchasing, design, and management teams.

Health & Safety compliance is critical, and the Production Engineer will ensure all activities align with company policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing or automotive-related environment.
  • Strong hands-on background in production line design and process setup.
  • Experience with CNC, sheet metal, welding, coating, and electrical assembly processes.
  • CAD experience (2D & 3D), ideally Solid Edge/Solidworks.

This Production Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the shop floor and driving practical engineering improvements. If you are an experienced Production Engineer looking for your next challenge, this could be the opportunity for you.
