Office Based | Quiet Working Environment
We are working on behalf of an engineering business seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of pump systems to join their specialist technical team.
This is a highly varied and technically focused role where you will support the full engineering lifecycle — from technical proposals and concept development through to testing and customer support. The successful candidate will act as a key technical point of contact on customer and supplier meetings, so the ability to confidently explain engineering concepts and communicate professionally is essential.
This role would suit somebody from a pump manufacturing, pump systems, fluid handling, or specialist engineering solutions background who enjoys combining technical engineering with customer-facing communication.
The position will involve overseeing engineering activities and supporting junior engineers where required, although this is not a direct line management role.
The Role
- Supporting engineering projects from concept through to testing and delivery
- Preparing technical proposals and engineering documentation
- Working with fluid systems, pumps, piping systems, and associated equipment
- Supporting customers and suppliers on technical calls and discussions
- Providing technical guidance across engineering activities
- Collaborating with suppliers and sourcing specialist components
- Assisting with technical problem solving and system improvements
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and project delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Previous experience within pump manufacturing, pump distribution/reselling, fluid systems, or process engineering
- Strong understanding of pumps, fluid flow, piping systems, and associated mechanical equipment
- Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly
- Strong commercial awareness and practical engineering mindset
- Able to think independently and work methodically
Desirable experience includes:
- CAD or 3D modelling software
- CFD or FEA analysis tools
- Knowledge of spraying systems, nozzles, or mixing systems
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and highly specialised engineering business offering interesting technical work within a calm and professional office environment.
